Microgaming starts Fortune Factory Studios and launches a new slot.
Microgaming, a top-notch British online casino game developer, has formed another independent studio called Fortune Factory Studios for creating premium game content. With the launch of Stormcraft Studios in June and Slingshot in September, this company has now unveiled its third independent slot development studio, Fortune Factory Studios. Their mission is to design exclusive content for Microgaming's leading online partners, leading to a new era of theme-based "deluxe games."
The focus at this studio is on crafting intuitive, appealing, and role-playing gameplays with integrated gambling features. They aim to deliver "more variety and innovation" when it comes to slot machines in the future. The development team is made up of professionals with "decades of experience," according to CEO John Coleman. FFS head developer Phelan Sykes has stated what players and fans can anticipate:
"Our game design philosophy is based on our belief that combining gaming mechanics and engaging themes, storylines, and characters, leads to thrilling gaming experiences. We can't wait to align our concepts with the Microgaming brand."
On October 24, players will get a taste of this with the release of "Romanov Riches" as the first official game under the Fortune Factory Studios name. According to the manufacturer, it's an "elegant slot" featuring mysterious symbols, a generous re-spin function, and a wheel bonus similar to Wheel of Fortune. More details about the game are yet to be disclosed.
In July, MG launched the sequel to their iconic slot Agent Jane Blonde Returns through Stormcraft Studios, the other partnership studio focused on the fantasy genre. With its founding in 1994, Microgaming has created over 800 casino games, and it's likely that Fortune Factory Studios will eventually join MG's roster as a top-tier production house.
Cash of Kingdoms
2018 marks another successful year for MG, with their latest release, Cash of Kingdoms. This polished medieval slot machine was exhibited at ICE Totally Gaming 2018 in London and was produced in collaboration with Slingshot, a new partner studio focusing on the fantasy genre.
Cash of Kingdoms features five reels, three rows, and 15 paylines. Five characters reminiscent of the medieval era are fighting for the titular cash: a dwarf with a fiery red beard, equipped with bombs; a green-cape-clad archer resembling both Robin Hood's sister and Peter Pan; a well-armored Prince Valiant; a wizard throwing fireballs; and a ninja-inspired thief.
This slot seamlessly blends role-playing games and slots, with dialogues and video animations directing the player through a mystical and magical world filled with chivalry. The ending of the journey results in a jackpot worth an astounding 100,000 euros. The minimum bet for Cash of Kingdoms is 0.15 cents, while the maximum bet per spin stands at 480 euros.
The game's scatter symbol is a treasure chest that acts as a multiplier, among other things. Wild symbols are more valuable in this game. They only appear on the middle three reels. If a complete stack of Wilds appears on either reel 2 or 4, the "Invading Wilds feature" is activated. This causes all stacked Wild symbols to be replicated, making the adjacent reel completely wild and granting free games. This feature, called "Invasion Wilds," has been trademarked by MG, and they guarantee "epic winnings."
