Nationwide, 37 states plus Washington, D.C. offer legal sports betting. Twenty-eight of those states and Washington, D.C., allow online sports betting as long as the bettor is physically located in the state.
While fans from Michigan and Washington can legally bet on sports in the states where their schools are located, that's not the case in Houston, home of the national championship, as Texas continues to ban legal sports betting. NRG Stadium is home to the NFL's Houston Texans and hosts the biggest college football game of the year.
