Meryl Streep jokes that the exceptional acting skills of Nicole Kidman can be 'traumatizing'.

Two actors, known for their impressive acting skills, shared the screen in the 2002 movie "The Hours" and during Season 2 of "Big Little Lies." Streep joked about the challenges of being considered the greatest actress of her generation, humorously referring to the difficulties of acting alongside highly talented individuals.

In a lighthearted tone, Streep playfully questioned, "What's the hardest part of being continuously labeled the best actress of my time?" Her answer, filled with wit and humor, was, "Oh! The hardest part is when you join forces with someone equally extraordinary. That's no piece of cake."

While working with Kidman on "Big Little Lies," Streep was astonished by her "incredible talents, her process, and the immense reservoir of emotions she carries within her, combined with her remarkable endurance, dedication, and artistic drive." She was left in awe after witnessing Kidman's performance during the first day of filming, in which she delivered phenomenal takes for a demanding scene, leaving Streep mesmerized.

"I've yet to recover from that first day," Streep remarked, "because this woman seems like a Valkyrie, capable of sustaining such intensity without any letup or compromise."

Kidman expressed her gratitude for Streep, acclaiming her as a "symbol of perfection, warmth, and generosity." As she accepted the award, she tearfully expressed her adoration for Streep and urged her husband and parents to attest to the deep admiration she's held for Streep for the longest time. She further added, "No one compares to you."

The awards show is set to air on TNT on June 17 and on Turner Classic Movies on June 27, as they all belong to the same family of Warner Bros. Discovery.
