Engaging championship match in England. - Mertesacker urges Tottenham to show fairness.

During the Premier League championship fight, Arsenal relies on assistance from enemy team Tottenham. The London club has gathered 86 points in the table following 37 games. Manchester City is currently at 85 points, but have yet to play twice. If they win twice against Tottenham on Tuesday and at their home against West Ham on Sunday, Manchester City could take the title, prompting Arsenal to stand idly by.

Tottenham fans do not mind if their Arsenal rivals win the soccer championship, yet, their supporters secretly hope for a loss by their team when they play against Manchester City on Tuesday. A video of a singer wearing a Tottenham shirt is making rounds online, singing, "I'm City 'til July, I'm City 'til July, I know I am, I'm sure I am, I'm City 'til July." Approximately, this translates to: "I'm a City fan until July!"

The ZDF commentator pleads with the Tottenham players for their maximum effort: "I hope it remains fair. This is the appeal of soccer: Nobody intends to lose the match. Besides the rivalry, there's so much at stake for me personally. Surrendering is unheard of! The Spurs fans' desire may not come true because of the players."

Even a draw between Tottenham and Manchester City could aid Arsenal. The two teams would then have the same number of points, leading to an exciting finale on the last game day. However, Arsenal has a superior goal difference: +61 to +58. The finale could, therefore, turn into a betting nightmare. Arsenal face Everton at home on Sunday, while Manchester City contends with another London team, West Ham, also known as Arsenal's foe.

Mertesacker believes Arsenal is more potent this year compared to the previous season when they lost the title to Manchester City in the final drive: "Maintaining that position for this long is a positive advancement compared to last year. There was a five-point gap at the end. This year, you can compete even longer."
