Research reveals - Men may experience hair loss from drinking cola and energy beverages.
The influence on individuals and the degree of impact is determined by several factors. Genetics, stress, illness - the list is expansive. Dietary habits also contribute. A Chinese study suggests that men must steer clear of specific beverages to minimize hair loss risks.
Researchers at Tsinghua University in Beijing surveyed more than a thousand Chinese men about their eating and drinking patterns and current hair condition.
In their study, the researchers examined the links between hair structure and the consumption of sugar-rich beverages in great detail.
Sugar-sweetened Drinks Cause Hair Loss
The findings: Approximately one-third of all men suffering from hair loss consumed one or more sugar-laden drinks daily. These include sodas, energy drinks, or even coffee with sugar.
Precisely: Men who abstained from sugary drinks experienced 42% less frequent hair loss.
Explanation: Sugar adversely affects the skin, triggering inflammatory processes in the cells. On the face, it results in pimples or enlarged pores. On the head, it leads to thin, brittle, or brittle hair, which ultimately exacerbates hair loss.
Reduce Sugar, Preserve Hair
It's not just sugar-laden beverages causing balding or baldness. An unhealthy diet in general can result in hair loss.
The upside: Unlike gene- or disease-related causes, men possess the ability to take action, for example, by foregoing refined sugar and generally promoting a nutritious, well-balanced diet.
