Farewell to Ballermann! - Melanie Müller's former partner starts a beach bar at a gravel pit.
The LVZ reports that Mike Blümer's new beach bar will open on Pentecost Saturday. According to the newspaper, he said, "My days in Mallorca and as a music manager are finished."
At the Strandklause in the Eilenburger Kiesgrube, patrons can expect a smaller version of the original with Melanie Müller at Ballermann. Chips cost 3.50 euros, currywurst 4 euros, draft beer 3 euros, as well as ice cream, coffee, and a daily rotating lunch menu.
Blümer's girlfriend Katharina Kahmann, who has experience in the food industry, is the lessee of the new beach oasis with awnings and a wooden terrace. The two are constructing the venue themselves.
The couple, who have four children and one dog, feel at home in their caravan by the lake. It's not as busy here as it is at Lake Cospuden in Leipzig, where they usually reside.
Prior to his relationship with Melanie (they separated in 2021), Blümer managed the "Russendisko" in Leipzig.
No More Ballermann-like Atmosphere
The beach bar will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., sometimes extending hours on weekends for campers. Blümer aims to move past his turbulent history with Melanie, who has made headlines for a Nazi scandal and cocaine found in her bag, and instead focus on his peaceful family life.
Mallorca singers will not perform at the "Strandklause." Blümer also is adamant that it should not become a Spanish cocktail bar, a reference to the notoriously hectic atmosphere at Ballermann.
