Berlin Showcase (exhibition) - Meeting with Armin Mueller-Stahl Again

Actor and artist Armin Mueller-Stahl (93, known for his role in "Buddenbrooks") was the main attraction at his personal art exhibition titled "Menschenbilder, Freunde" in Berlin over the weekend. The special event was held at the Artes Gallery and displayed over 50 of his works composed in various mediums like oil and acrylic paint, charcoal, and pencils. This exhibition is described by the gallery as the first comprehensive showcase of his artworks in the capital city of Germany.

Armin Mueller-Stahl initially gained fame in the German Democratic Republic (GDR), and in 1980, his request to emigrate to West Germany was eventually accepted. A rare feat among East German actors, he managed to carry on his acting career in West Germany. In addition to this, he achieved success in Hollywood during the 1980s, ultimately relocating to California in 1989. From that point, he balanced his time between Europe and the United States. Mueller-Stahl retired from his film career in 2015 and subsequently focused on painting, writing, and music. In an interview regarding his 90th birthday, the actor mentioned he preferred to step back from the big screen because "people don't seem to want to watch the old man anymore."
