He explicitly states it. - Mbappé departs from PSG.
On Friday evening, Mbappé publicly shared his decision to not renew his contract with PSG on social media, just three days after their defeat in the Champions League against BVB. He expressed his feelings in a four-minute video, saying, "This year, I'll be playing my last season with PSG. I won't be renewing my contract."
Mbappé further elaborated on his decision, "It's not easy for me to leave my homeland, France, and Ligue 1. But after seven years, I feel I need a fresh challenge."
Fans will get a last glimpse of Mbappé at the Parc des Princes on Sunday during their game against Toulouse. With PSG's remaining matches against Nice and Metz both being played away from home, this will be his last game at his home stadium.
Despite his decision to leave, he still expressed his gratitude to the PSG community, "I've always given my all. I'm thankful to everyone at PSG and the fans. I hope we can end this season with a trophy."
Mbappé's current contract will expire in the summer. In 2022, he renewed his contract until 2025, but he had an option to terminate it early. This option was recently exercised by Mbappé, who's been rumored to join Real Madrid.
With his world-cup win in 2018, Mbappé has four French championship titles and three French Cup victories to his name.
There's still a possibility for him to win another trophy this season, as PSG is set to face Olympique Lyon in the cup final on May 25th.
