Max “altiFC” Altergott wins Monaco Super High Roller Championship

22-year-old online player Max "altiFC" Altergott recently wowed audiences with his high-stakes poker talents by winning the PokerStars €100,000 Super High Roller event and the European Poker Tour Finals at Monte Carlo Casino.

First live broadcast

It's hard to believe that this was Altergott's first major live tournament, and the German high-stakes cash game player crushed his competition to take home a whopping €1,746,400 ($2,260,161) and a victory bracelet worth €10,000.

One of the most respected high-stakes cash game players in the online space, Altergott decided to place a rare bet on a live tournament simply because he and a friend had never played in Monaco before and clearly wanted to enjoy a bit of glitz with them Poker Hands Charm Together.

Altgott noted that he played against most of his competitors online and said he had "a good feel for their play style, but they still presented a tough challenge and I was happy to beat them."

He hit her. In fact, he beat a total of 42 players in the Super High Roller to create a total prize pool of €4,851,000 ($6,275,141), which was a lot of fun for everyone involved.

Hard Final Table

Altergott had some strong competition at the final table, including Vladimir Troyanovsky from Russia, Jason Mercier and Scott Seiver from the United States, and Canadians Mike Watson, Sorel Mizzi and Tim Adams.

When it came to one-on-one action, Altgott faced Messier. But after a tough battle with poker pros, Altergott eventually edged out Mercier to finish second for €1,115,700 ($1,443,190), so it's unlikely he'll return to the U.S. with his tail between his legs.

Given his introduction to the main live tournament scene, it's safe to say that Max "altiFC" Alergott is a player to watch.
