Marvel's Avengers attraction on Las Vegas Strip to close permanently
The Marvel-themed Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Treasure Island (TI) attraction will delight guests on January 1, 2024.
Opened in 2016 by Victory Hill Exhibitions, the interactive exhibit allows visitors to participate in virtual reality missions, solve puzzles and challenges with Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk and other characters from the Marvel Universe, and view original props and props. Costumes from the Marvel movie series.
The Fall of the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operations Network) was first reported by Scott Roeben on his own Vital Vegas blog on December 16th.
Treasure Island owner Phil Ruffin, who purchased the casino resort from MGM Mirage (now MGM Resorts International) in 2009 for $755 million, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in November that the property was Pirate shows featuring holograms or animatronics. Robben's sources say Victory Hill, which will retain the lease, is planning such a show at its Marvel space.
While the closing of a Las Vegas attraction is always a sign of poor financial performance, an attraction saddled with huge licensing fees doesn't need a huge drop in attendance to underperform, as Marvel Entertainment undoubtedly demands.
Children's products
While the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority encourages Las Vegas visitors with children to leave their kids at home and airs a recent funny TV commercial, no one on or near the Las Vegas Strip Many activities are still encouraged and minors are guaranteed to be entertained.
These include rides at the Circus Circus Adventuredome and STRAT, Vegas Super Karts, New York-New York roller coaster, Horseshoe Arcade, Vegas Indoor Skydiving, Discovery Children's Museum, Horseshow Arcade and numerous children's theater shows.
Area15, an experiential retail, arts and entertainment complex off the Las Vegas Strip, is open to all ages until 9 p.m. and visitors must be 21 or older.
Don’t forget about pro football, hockey and women’s basketball.
