Mark Davis of the Las Vegas Raiders Refutes Paternity Claims in Connection with Cirque Performer

Mark Davis, the 69-year-old owner of the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders, was rumored to have impregnated a 26-year-old social media influencer and Cirque du Solei choreographer and performer. However, this report was not true.

Dov Kleiman, a well-known NFL blogger known for his inaccurate claims, posted on Twitter on Sunday that Davis was expecting a child with Hayden Hopkins. This came shortly after Hopkins shared a post about her pregnancy on her social media accounts. Kleiman's tweet went viral when he mentioned Davis as the father.

Kleiman, famously known for making errors, announced the news to the world, claiming that Davis was the father. This declaration, which wrongfully stated Davis' age, turned out to be unfounded.

Hopkins quickly denied this report, stating that Davis is not the father. In a tweet on the following day, she wrote, "Reports of Mark Davis being the father of my child are wildly untrue. I was pictured sitting next to him at a game in 2022 and have been subject to false rumors of a romantic relationship since. I was just a guest sitting in the owner's box with other friends."

Hopkins clarified that the father of her baby is her boyfriend, 30-year-old MLB player Joey Gallo from the Washington Nationals. Gallo, a native of Southern Nevada, attended high school in Las Vegas.

Hopkins expressed her disappointment with the media coverage and the impact it has had on her pregnancy, "These continued media stories are negatively affecting what should be my happiest days. Joey and I are excited to welcome our baby in the fall."

Davis, whose estimated net worth is $2.3 billion, does not have children and has never been married. Kleiman has since deleted his post from Sunday.

A Brief History

Davis moved the NFL franchise from Oakland to Las Vegas in anticipation of the 2020 season, building a $1.9 billion stadium - Allegiant Stadium. $750 million of this was financed through local taxes.

Guests staying in hotels in Clark County are made to pay for this financing through a nightly hotel tax on their rooms. The stadium tax increased the hotel occupancy tax rate by 0.88%.

Davis inherited the Raiders organization from his father, Al Davis, who passed away in 2011. Al Davis is credited for driving the merger of the NFL and the American Football League.

Davis decided to relocate the Raiders to Las Vegas after the officials in Oakland declined to help him build a new stadium. The team's poor performance, including 14 losing seasons in the previous 17 campaigns, did not help either.

Value Increase

Since its move to Las Vegas, Davis' Raiders have increased significantly in value. According to Forbes, the Raiders are now the 6th most valuable team in the NFL, with a current value of approximately $6.2 billion.

Before relocating to the gambling capital of the United States, the Raiders were valued at $2.9 billion.

The plans for building an NFL stadium were initially spearheaded by the late Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire founder of the Las Vegas Sands empire. Adelson was keen on buying an NFL team following the NFL's change in stance regarding casino magnates owning franchises.

This change in the NFL's policy came after the US Supreme Court repealed a federal sports betting law in May 2018, making sports gambling more mainstream and the NFL embracing the activity.
