Marina Bay Sands named most valuable casino gaming brand

Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s Marina Bay Sands is the most valuable casino gaming brand, according to Brand Finance’s latest 2024 rankings.

The Singapore casino hotel ranked 368th, the same ranking it held in 2023. Marina Bay Sands, one of two integrated resorts in Singapore, is the only casino-related brand on the list. Apple tops the list with a brand value of $516.58 billion, according to Brand Finance.

"While iPhone sales share has largely stagnated, Apple's brand equity has grown significantly, as its strategy of entering new markets, expanding its ecosystem, and encouraging upgrades to high-end iPhones has proven effective," the research firm noted. "Apple maintains its dominance of the high-end smartphone market with a 71% value share."

Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Samsung round out the top five. South Korea's Samsung is the only foreign company among these five companies. Four such companies can be found in Brand Finance’s top 10 list.

While a single casino brand will never rival the recognition or value of giants like Apple, Microsoft and Coca-Cola, Marina Bay Sands' brand power is impressive, especially considering it's not on the Las Vegas Strip Performance venue.

It is one of the most profitable casino resorts in the world, which helps to raise its profile in the business community. In terms of day-to-day, more specific brand awareness, the hotel is the most Instagrammed hotel in the world.

Marina Bay Sands also received a boost as it is one of only two venues in Singapore and shares a government-protected duopoly with Genting-owned Resorts World Sentosa.

Marina Bay Sands is vital to Singapore's business and leisure tourism, and the Sands benefits from its presence in Singapore. The city ranked ninth globally in tourism spending last year, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

Marina Bay Sands Beat Brand

Brand Finance assessed the value of 500 brands, and while many gaming brands are certainly more recognized by North American consumers than Marina Bay Sands, LVS Properties outperforms many companies in terms of brand value, with high levels of recognition.

The Marina Bay Sands brand is more valuable than the likes of COVID-19 vaccine maker Pfizer, Domino's Pizza, Kellogg's, Mars Wrigley and index fund giant Vanguard Group, according to Brand Finance.

Other well-known brands with significant value (although not as much as Marina Bay Sands) include Gatorade, Bud Light, and Budweiser USA. Postal Service, Dove, Burger King, Best Buy, Tide, Chipotle and Dunkin' Donuts.
