In the midst of Munich, - Man steals precious 150,000-euro timepiece from woman's arm (36)
During daytime, an unidentified person stole a pricey Patek Philippe watch from a driver's wrist. This happened close to the Bayerischer Hof hotel on Promenadeplatz, where the victim, a 36-year-old woman, was having a chat with a friend on the street.
All of a sudden, a man appeared, grabbed her Aquanaut timepiece off her wrist. The woman suffered a minor injury in the process. After that, the thief hopped on a scooter where his accomplice was waiting. They zoomed off.
A call to the emergency hotline 110 was quickly made, and a thorough search in Munich was initiated involving multiple police patrol units. However, the investigation failed to yield any concrete leads about the getaway vehicle or the criminals involved.
Now, the department responsible for robberies, No. 21, is handling the matter further.
Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
If there were any onlookers around Promenadeplatz (Old Town) between Saturday afternoon and 6 p.m. who saw anything related to this theft, they're encouraged to step forward with their details.
Anyone who can supply useful information is asked to contact Munich Police Headquarters, Department 21, on 089/2910-0, or their nearest precinct.
