Law enforcement operation conducted in Friedrichsthal - Man menaced to slay his own infant
At around 11 pm, the Saarland police's special forces were deployed to Feldstraße due to suspicions that a man there might be armed. The area around the house was cordoned off, with a radius of approximately 300 meters. Emergency services were also on standby near the Wasgau supermarket.
After around four hours, the 35-year-old man was arrested without any resistance. His 30-year-old partner and the couple's child did not sustain any injuries.
A spokesperson for the Sulzbach police stated in the morning, "The 35-year-old suspect is accused of committing criminal offenses against his 30-year-old partner." Since a child's safety was at stake, a specially trained negotiation team was dispatched to the scene.
The perpetrator has already been known to the police.
The investigation is still ongoing, and it is unclear whether any firearms were actually found in the man's apartment.
