Economy travelers should benefit. - Lufthansa trials complimentary on-board amenities.
Around three years ago, after the elimination of the previously complimentary beverage service, Lufthansa revealed on a Monday that it would be examined and provided for free on specific short and medium-distance trips.
Airline CEO Jens Ritter had previously mentioned the pilot project in various interviews, which may result in improved customer contentment. Beverages such as tea or coffee will be handed out, as announced on Monday. Consumer input will be monitored through regular satisfaction surveys.
In the summer of 2021, Lufthansa abolished the complimentary service in Economy class and replaced it with paid alternatives.
Customers were still given a free bottle of water and a small chocolate bar. Hot beverages cost anywhere from 3 to 3.50 euros onboard, while tomato juice sets you back 3.20 euros.
