TV's unexpected twist - Lower league player turns into European Championship specialist

The 26-year-old soccer player won't be playing on the field during the home tournament, which takes place from June 14 to July 14. Instead, he'll be appearing as a TV commentator on MagentaTV. There's a "Reaction Show" set up for young fans on a specific channel (Fußball.TV3). In this show, he'll react to the games alongside special guests.

This Hertha BSC player will be joining folks like the Calcio Berlin trio (Christoph, Nico, and Niklas) and the Gurk brothers Marcel and Pascal. The interactive studio show from the stadium will kick off at the Berlin Fan Mile on June 14 at 8:30 pm.

The telecommunications company's platform is the sole platform to broadcast all 51 matches of the European Championship - even in Ultra High-Definition (UHD). Pre-match coverage begins 90 minutes before kickoff. The entire plan for the roughly 150 hours of live coverage has now been finalized.

MagentaTV's lineup for the opening match on June 14 between Germany and Scotland in Munich looks like this: Johannes B. Kerner will host in the stadium with expert Michael Ballack, Laura Wontorra will provide commentary in Cologne, and Wolff Fuss will be the main commentator.

Kerner and Wontorra will handle most of the principal presenting work, with Sascha Bandermann lending a hand. Anna Kraft, Ruth Hofmann, Anna Sara Lange, and Thomas Wagner are in the stadiums for interviews - Wagner also provides the coverage from the German national team's quarters in Herzogenaurach. The Magenta reporters will be first in line for interviews after matches. Stefanie Blochwitz and Kamila Benschop are out on the road to capture the country's mood.

The roster of experts includes Ballack, Tabea Kemme, Shkodran Mustafi, and Owen Hargreaves. Tim Borowski is a newcomer to the team and will focus on the tactics channel. Referee Patrick Ittrich will guide viewers in rule-related questions. The team led by Jan Henkel and Manuel Baum will deliver in-depth analysis of each match. There will be occasional guests: For the first exclusive telecast on MagentaTV, Hungary vs. Switzerland on June 15 (kickoff at 1:30 pm), former Swiss international Ciriaco Sforza will be present in the stadium.

Wolff Fuss will commentate on the European Championship final

Hertha's Fabian Reese provides fun on the pitch, also on MagentaTV during the European Championships

Wolff Fuss, Christian Straßburger, Christina Rann, Jonas Friedrich, Jan Platte, Marco Hagemann, Markus Höhner, and Benni Zander will provide the play-by-play commentary. In addition to the 51 individual matches, there will be two-teamer conferences on each of the last six group game days. Fuss will take the mic for the opening match, every German match, and the final from Berlin on July 14. Platte and Zander will mostly cover the tactics channel.

As with the 2022 World Cup, the social host in the studio is Paul Fischer (aka Paulomuc). The social team also includes Ann-Sophie Kimmel and Conan Furlong. The half-hour late-night show "Studio Pille-Palle" with actor Fahri Yardim and former national team player Jonas Hector will air ten times at the end of broadcast days. The first show will air after Germany's opener on June 14 at 11:30 pm.
