Target and farewell - Lok-Luca rejoiced yet again.
Luca Sirch (24 years old) scored the final goal in Lok Leipzig's 2-0 win over Zwickau, marking his 13th goal of the season and it was no ordinary goal - he scored from a free-kick in front of his own fan base.
Bidding farewell with a stunning goal
As he was replaced shortly before the end of the match, he was emotionally celebrated by the fans with a standing ovation. This brings to an end his four-year tenure with the club in Leipzig. Clubs in the 2nd division have expressed interest in him and this time, he won't be returning.
"There's nothing better than this," Sirch said after his victory lap that lasted for almost a third half, "It's so nice to hear everyone clapping. I've cried a few times already."
Potential destinations for him include Magdeburg, Paderborn, Elversberg, and Darmstadt - all of whom want the agile and goal-scoring sensation from the 4th division.
"There are still a few negotiations left before we reach a final decision. Unfortunately, I can't reveal any details yet. I'm excited for the future and hope everything gets sorted out quickly" - he added.
The team is expected to travel to Mallorca in the near future. The flight is scheduled for Tuesday - to extend the season. However, Osman Atilgan will be joining them with a shoulder injury. Although, it's not a fracture as initially feared. He will undergo an MRI on Wednesday.
