Creatures - Lion cubs from Cologne Zoo make their debut appearance outside.
Excited, well-behaved, and inquisitive - people attending Cologne Zoo can now watch the three cubs that were born at the start of February. Parents Mani and Nilay, along with their mother Gina, made their debut in the lion's enclosure's outdoor area on a Tuesday. The zoo assures that visitors will be enjoying the sight of these cubs frequently from now on, as it's been 20 long years since any lion cubs were born at the zoo.
Weighing around 14 kilograms each, the cubs are described as "lively and incredibly healthy" by the zoo staff. After staying in their secluded den for the initial weeks, they have recently started to venture into the outdoor enclosure with more confidence. The zoo reports that the triplets are mostly feeding on breastmilk, but they're also starting to express an interest in meat.
The IUCN has classified lions as endangered.
