Fresh agreement up to 2025. - Leipzig signs Piplica

Recap: Lokomotive Leipzig has renewed the contract for midfielder Zak Paulo Piplica, who will be with the club until June 2025. Piplica's dad, Tomislav, is a goalkeeping coach at the club, and Zak is following in his footsteps.

Since joining Lok in 2020, Piplica has played 119 games and scored three goals. He's excited about the upcoming season:

"I'm happy to be part of 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig for another year," Piplica said in a statement. "Toni Wachsmuth made it clear early on that I'd be a crucial player, so I decided not to consider other options. We want to make up for a lot as a team next season."

Wachsmuth, the club's sporting director, believes Piplica's mindset and determination will benefit the team:

"We're thrilled to have Zak stay with us," Wachsmuth said. "His attitude and willingness to fight make him a great addition to the squad for the coming season."

Lok currently ranks 12th in the Regionalliga with only ten wins from 33 games. They also missed out on reaching the regional cup finals.
