Argument concerns HSV permit. - League official Bohmann targets BHC.
In Dyn's program "Auszeit," Anett Sattler (41) interviewes Bohmann, who is a guest. Of course, the HSV situation is being discussed.
Sattler inquires about the chance of getting an outcome before the arbitration court, as this is Hamburg's only hope to overturn the license revocation and contest the decision.
Bohmann at Dyn: "We feel confident that we'll sort this out before the final matchday. It's critical, but it's up to the judge in charge, who has heard our pleas and those of HSV, to make the necessary arrangements. I can't tell for sure yet. I think it will occur in the final week or the week before the final matchday."
Haste is necessary since the decision directly affects the teams vying for relegation, such as Bergischer HC.
HBL Chief Bohmann: "Bergischer HC undermines licensing system"
Bohmann states, "If the arbitration court upholds the licensing commission's decision, one less team will be demoted from the first division, and another from the second division. Meanwhile, the teams right under them benefit. The BHC, currently in 17th place and in danger of relegation, has even sued the league. But that's a separate issue, and I don't want to talk about it now."
However, he does elaborate upon his feelings about Bergischer HC's approach. According to Bohmann, "The BHC is undermining the licensing system's solidarity. That's not the way to handle your own wrong decisions, both in sports and in business. Honestly, I'm quite disappointed in the BHC's actions."
Bohmann wishes for more trust in the HBL's work: "The licensing commission is impartial and, of course, has no personal interests in the game. We treat everyone equally, and the BHC is questioning that. And from my perspective, there's no reason to do so. I'm not denying anyone their right to assert their case. But how you go about it is still on the table. And the way the BHC is going about it is not OK in my book."
Bergischer HC, led by managing director Jens Föste, is suing the league. The BHC questions whether HSV Hamburg should have been granted a license for the current season.
