Actor Sandra Hüller is... - Latest preview for "Two to One" shared online
Sandra Hüller (46) makes a comeback in a comedy following her heavy Oscar-buzzing performances in "The Zone of Interest" and "Anatomy of a Case." Now, alongside Max Riemelt, Ronald Zehrfeld, Ursula Werner, Peter Kurth, Martin Brambach, Uwe Preuss, Kathrin Wehlisch, and Olli Dittrich, she stars in the German friendship comedy "Two to One," directed by Natja Brunckhorst (57). The movie hits theaters on July 25, 2024. A new trailer is now available.
The press release describes "Two to One" as a "tribute to a very special time when anything seemed possible - a humorous adventure about money and justice, based on true events." In the comedic film, Hüller plays Maren, who along with her friends, discovers millions of devalued Marks from the former German Democratic Republic (GDR) in a mine shaft. United, they devise a plan to make the now worthless money usable while, at the same time, circumventing capitalism.
"Two to One" is based on the true story of the "Treasure of Halberstadt." In 1990, the GDR ordered the burial of 109 billion marks in Halberstadt. Over the years, thieves raided the mine and stole an unknown amount of the money.
