Las Vegas parking for everyone: number of free casinos reduced to 6
You used to get free parking at all the casinos on the Las Vegas Strip and it will be a story you will tell your grandchildren one day, just like you told them the story of how you drank for free there (when When you're old enough) you'll get a bonus once you get a room because you played $100.
Venetian/Palazzo is one of the last resorts to refuse free parking, actually two resorts within the same resort, and will "impose parking fees later this summer," according to its website.
The cost of self-parking at the Venetian has not yet been disclosed. However, like most other Las Vegas Strip resorts, the properties will continue to allow free self-parking as a reward for club members with a certain level (Premium or higher) and will allow Nevada residents self-parking for three Hour.
Valet parking remains $35.
Free Fall
That leaves only Tropicana, Treasure Island, Circus Circus, Casino Royale, Sahara and Wynn/Encore (two other resorts in the same resort), all of which offer free parking. Tropicana already charges a fee for some of its nicer spots.
Casino Royale may not be around for much longer, as plans are underway to replace it with a 699-foot tower. Wynn/Encore will almost certainly leave this five/six list.
Because it is adjacent to the Venetian, Wynn Hotel will charge for parking at the Venetian. If not, thousands of frugal Venice guests will park for free at other Wynn locations.
Wynn Hotels tried to launch paid parking in 2017. But two years later it reversed that decision, and did so heroically. I'm afraid there won't be any heroic deeds this time.
Effect of Sphere
The sphere is rightfully blamed for toppling the final domino in this sad game. When this very large concert venue opens on September 29 to host U2's first Las Vegas show, it will seat 18,600 spectators and provide just 304 parking spaces for them.
That's not a typo. Nearly every Sphere ticket holder must find a parking space at another casino resort or fashion show mall, or not drive there at all.
