LAS VEGAS MUSICAL UPDATE: Bon Jovi's Spherical Setback, Daryl and Elvis' Residence
Bon Jovi's frontman, Jon Bon Jovi, disclosed that his group was approached about taking a residency at Las Vegas' Sphere and surprisingly rejected the offer.
During a chat with Ultimate Classic Rock, the six decades old vocalist wouldn't divulge the exact sum proposed by Sphere CEO James Dolan to the pop-metal band from New Jersey to succeed U2's debut residency.
Bon Jovi expressed concern after witnessing U2's unveiling of the $2.3 billion cylindrical concert venue on September 29.
"I started thinking, 'How can I even present this? It's overwhelming,'" Bon Jovi stated. "I was like, 'Wow, how can I wrap my brain around this? It'd take a lot of time to create something worthwhile that could follow this extraordinary production?'"
"I'm wondering whether I can really pull it off."
