Las Vegas Music Roundup: Nostalgia Overload! (Duran Duran, Heart, Pat Benatar, ABBA Avatar Show)
The recent slew of new concert announcements in Las Vegas read like classified ads from 1984, ironically with most of the dates booked by the newest casino on the Strip.
Heart and sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson will bring their latest comeback tour to the BleauLive Theater in Fontainebleau on December 13th. Tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. PT via Fontainebleaulasvegas.com.
Duran Duran - Still with Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes and John and Roger Taylor - Back at Wynn's Encore Theater 3rd to 4th place possible. In 2022, the 80s band performed locally for the first time. Tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster.com.
Pat Benatar and her husband and musical partner since 1982, Neil Giraldo, return to The Palms on August 2 under the band name Funtastic 24 The Pearl The pair are the casino's first headliners since it reopened in September 2022 under the leadership of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.
Comprised of original members Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlain, the Smashing Pumpkins stretch the roster back to the relatively recent time of 30 years ago. Their new tour will also stop at BeauLive on September 27th. Pre-sales are already open, with general pre-sales starting Friday at fontainebleaulasvegas.com.
Another BeauLive event from this old and new era is Hootie & The Blowfish, who will be playing there on August 23rd and 24th. Tickets are on sale now at fontainebleaulasvegas.com .
ABBA tar show?
According to reports, "ABBA Voyage" will soon find a home in Las Vegas. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a smart investment is in Resorts World. The London stage show features avatars of ABBA members pretending to sing along to the band's original sounds, accompanied by live musicians.
