Las Vegas announces New Year's Eve fireworks details
Officials announced details Wednesday for "Party in America," the Las Vegas Strip's annual New Year's Eve fireworks show.
Starting at midnight on New Year's Day, thousands of hissing, gleaming rockets will be launched from the rooftops of eight casino resorts: MGM Grand, Arria, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, according to a report , Treasure Island Hotel, Venetian Hotel, Resorts World Hotel and Strutt Hotel. The eight-minute performance will use more than 12,000 electronic devices and took 64 hours to choreograph, according to organizers. The roof installation will take a full five days, involving 66 technicians and more than 90 security guards, engineers and hotel staff.
The command center will operate out of Rio Boulevard.
Explosive Visit
Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) officials said the free show is expected to draw 356,000 visitors to the Strip.
This year's show, co-produced by New York-based Fireworks by Grucci, showcases 24-karat gold glitter air bullets, cruising colorful comets and colorful mines. Some create shapes in the sky, including champagne flutes and chalices.
The show's soundtrack, simulcast on KOMP 92.3 FM and 97.FM 1 The Point, begins with the traditional song "Auld Lang Syne", followed by pop songs from Mariah Carey, Pink and Bruno Mars , some people can watch the Dolby Live show live at Park MGM on December 31st.

The Interstate 15 exit at Flamingo Road will be closed in both directions at 5:00 p.m. New Year's Eve, according to the city of Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Strip will close from Spring Mountain Road to Tropicana Avenue beginning at 6:30 p.m., with a full traffic closure beginning at 8:00 p.m.
The Las Vegas Monorail will operate 24 hours a day on New Year’s Eve, providing locals and visitors with the only motorized transportation on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Fremont Street Experience will once again host an alternative New Year’s Eve party off the Las Vegas Strip. The NYE Time of Your Life festival features live performances from Third Eye Blind, Blackstreet, Kid n' Play and more on three stages. Fireworks will be set off at the Plaza Hotel at midnight.
