Football: Fan celebrates goal with fireworks during match. - Kroos has not yet made any decisions about his future.
Toni Kroos wants to put his attention on Real Madrid's title hopes and the German national team's prospects during the season's last stage, instead of thinking about his future. "Right now, it's not the time for that. Nothing has been finalized," the 34-year-old footballer shared following the 2:2 draw vs. Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals' first leg. "We've got a semi-final in the Champions League ahead and we hope for a final too. The league's nearly done now, then we'll see."
Real Madrid's chances of winning the Spanish title are almost nonexistent. Kroos' contract in Madrid ends on June 30. It's unclear what the future holds for him. In late March, various news outlets claimed an extension to 2025 was just a formality. "I'm pondering it, no doubt. The decision hasn't been made yet, but I'm glad we're still competing at this point in the season," he told Prime Video.
Kroos is excited about the potential Champions League final in London and the European Championship at home with the national team. "I've got quite a bit to look forward to in the coming weeks," he said. The ex-Bayern player returned to the national team in March after only playing a few times in the last three years and made a significant impression there.
When asked if he would retire this summer after potentially claiming the Champions League, La Liga, and European Championships titles, Kroos smiled and said, "If you put it like that, I might have to consider it."
