Prussia's goalkeeper contemplating plans. - Kompany's Relation to Schenk Explained:
The situation is clear: with Belgium's approval, the goalkeeper dilemma at the "Black-Whites" can now be resolved promptly. They plan to sign Bayern Leverkusen loaner Johannes "Jojo" Schenk (21) permanently to kick start the upcoming, tough second league season as their new number one. They believe in his talent, both when it comes to handling the ball.
Various arrangements have been deliberated over with Munich, where Schenk's contract runs until 2025. The seemingly preferred option is for Schenk to switch to the Hammer Strasse prematurely and become a free agent. The Preussen would then pledge to include Bayern in the resale. This seems like a smart agreement benefits both parties...
Yet, this cannot be executed yet, as the coach at Saebener Strasse must be determined first. This places Kompany in control!
If Kompany agrees to the transfer, Schenk will continue to don the eagle jersey. He has repeatedly stated that he enjoys it here and wants to remain. The native Swabian (8 third league appearances) could likely be provided with a contract until at least 2026 in this scenario at the shock promotion.
If Kompany, though, refuses to do so, due to including the young goalkeeper in his own plans as a substitute for national player Manuel Neuer (38) and Sven Ulreich (35), Preussen must reconsider their strategy. And find another goalkeeper. It's been hinted from Munich that Kompany will have made up his mind by the beginning of next week at the latest. He has other pressing issues to address in his squad.
Sport executives Ole Kittner (36) and others are also monitoring the "Schenk case." In addition to Verl Luca Unbehaun (23), who has announced his departure from the Ostwestfalen and was seriously considered in Munster in 2023, as well as the seasoned, free agent Jannik Huth (30/lastly Paderborn/80 second league games) and Philipp Kühn (31/81) from relegated Osnabrück, at least three attractive possibilities are being discussed.
Yet, as previously mentioned - Kompany holds the last say...
Meanwhile, the Preussen are running full steam ahead to ensure the DFL requirements for a smooth course of league operations in the 2. Bundesliga before the start of the season (August 2-4). Sports manager Markus Sass (41) stated: "We're focusing on relocating the television production side to the Südtribüne in the coming eight weeks. This entails massive construction measures and a significant financial investment. Numerous local companies, as well as specialist firms from across Germany, are assisting us with their expertise and labor."
Essentially, it's about establishing new camera platforms and media work areas, redesigning the floodlight system, and setting up a dependable power supply.
