Possible contenders for the "Star of the Night" title were Matthias Schweighöfer (43) and his girlfriend, Ruby O. Fee (28), who also dressed up for the occasion.
Casually dressed was the renowned Meryl Streep (74), who would be receiving a lifetime achievement award later that evening.
"Le deuxième acte" is just the beginning of what's to come at the film festival in the upcoming weeks, with "The Apprentice" by Ali Abassi, "Kinds of Kindness" by Yorgos Lanthimos, and a new film by Paolo Sorrentino, "Parthenope," set to be premiered.
The most anticipated film this year belongs to legendary director Francis Ford Coppola (85), who's making a comeback with his latest epic, "Megalopolis." This long-awaited project has been in the works for several decades.
