Katy Perry performs secret Las Vegas show at Allegiant Stadium
Katy Perry performed for the first time at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Friday night. Almost none of their loyal fans know the show.
That's because it's a private event, open only to general managers from the Hilton hotel chain, about 10,000 of whom are in town for the conference over Labor Day weekend. According to reports, some top clients were also invited to the event, but no tickets were sold to the general public.
Perry reportedly performed her entire 95-minute "Play" performance without an elaborate set. Videos on TikTok show her singing without the giant dancing mushrooms.
Allegiant's concerts have a capacity of 72,000, although most of the stands were empty Friday.
The connection to Hilton explains Perry's opening act. It was DJ-produced by Paris Hilton, the great-granddaughter of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton. According to her Instagram post, Hilton performed at a center stage DJ booth with singers Sza and Jax, who flew her to the concert on a private jet.
"An iconic opening night for the one and only @KatyPerry at @AllegiantStadium," Hilton posted on Instagram. “It’s awesome to be performing in the same place as the Super Bowl!”
Forbes estimates Hilton is worth $300 million, although the family fortune is estimated at around $4.5 billion.
Whatever Perry's worth, it's worth increased after this performance. The superstar charges about $2 million for private concerts, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
On October 4, Perry resumed his "Play" residency at Resorts World. 10 dates left.
