Playing basketball - Journalists assaulted by police dogs.

During the event, the sport took a back seat due to the escalating tensions between supporters of the Greek clubs, Panathinaikos and Olympiakos.

Not long before Sunday, clashes broke out between fans at the Prenzlauer Allee S-Bahn station. The brawl left 12 individuals injured, including one critical case and two serious injuries.

About 70 hooligans were responsible for this chaos.

Trouble had also surfaced on Friday during the semi-final games between Panathinaikos versus Fenerbahçe Istanbul (73:57) and Real against Olympiakos (87:76). Around 80 hooligans damaged the barriers, assaulted stewards, and invaded the hall.

Authorities apprehended 63 individuals and filed 50 complaints, mostly for severe disruption of the peace. Among the confiscated items were four helmets, two machetes, two pepper sprays, and a telescopic baton. Two officers sustained injuries, but they were able to continue working.

The first semi-final match commenced with a 25-minute delay.

After both games concluded, police officers in full riot gear entered the arena, standing in front of the fan sections.

Dogs were brought into the hall by the officers as well. The animals appeared anxious and struggled to remain calm.

Unfortunately, the dogs caused issues.

Olympiakos player Kostas Papanikolaou voiced his concerns about the barking dogs positioned behind his bench.

Some journalists were forced to retreat to the press area to evade the barking dogs, who were all muzzled. Basketnews, an online magazine, reported that journalists in the interview area were also targeted.

The head of the Euroleague, Paulius Motiejunas, vows: "We have learned from the preliminaries. There won't be any such occurrences on Sunday."
