"The Final Part of Us" - Jeffrey Wright joins the cast of the second season.

HBO's post-apocalyptic series "The Last of Us" adds another big name to its cast. Jeffrey Wright, popular for his role in the sci-fi show "Westworld" and recently nominated for an Oscar for "Best Actor in a Leading Role," is set to join the games adaptation for the upcoming second season. According to US industry portal "Deadline," the exciting news is that Wright will be reprising his role as Isaac, the leader of the Washington Liberation Front (WLF), who he had voiced in the original game "The Last of Us Part II."

The Expanding Cast of 'The Last of Us' Season 2

For the upcoming second season of "The Last of Us," Wright will be joining an already expanded cast. This includes Kaitlyn Dever as the villain Abby, Danny Ramirez as Manny, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, and Spencer Lord as Owen. Additional actors include Isabela Merced playing the character Dina and Young Mazino as Jesse. Then there's Catherine O'Hara tackling an as-of-yet unspecified role.

The first season of the game adaptation "The Last of Us" was a huge hit for HBO when it premiered last year. Many fans of the original games were delighted with the post-apocalyptic series, as were those who were new to it. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, both known for their roles in "Game of Thrones," play the main characters Joel and Ellie. The anticipated second season is set to air on HBO sometime next year.
