German Basketball League - Jansson assumes role as basketball coach in Heidelberg
Finnish coach Daniel Jansson has been appointed as the new head of MLP Academics Heidelberg's basketball team. He joins the Bundesliga club from Tigers Tübingen, where he led the team despite their relegation from the first division. Jansson has signed a contract with Academics until 2026, with an option to extend for another year. His predecessor, Ingo Freyer, was dismissed by the club at the beginning of the week.
"We're thrilled to have Danny as our new coach," said Alex Vogel, Academics' sporting director. "Danny's coaching style is all about teamwork and is extremely appealing. He has a proven track record of developing and improving players."
