A tourist from Texas was at Harry Reid International Airport on Monday when she tried her luck at a seat at Gate A of the Las Vegas Terminal. This is a very profitable decision.
The woman named "Brittany" won $643,434.41 on slot machines. Payment is made on a "Wheel of Fortune Triple Double Emerald" machine manufactured by IGT.
The airport posted news of the victory on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. The post included a photo of Brittany standing next to the winning slot machine.
There were no details on what she planned to do with the money, and the airport did not reveal how long she spent at the slot machines before paying out the jackpot.
Harry Reid's other passengers had previously won large winnings on the airport's Wheel of Fortune slot machine.
On June 29, a passenger won more than 1.3 million USD, and on July 25, another tourist won 1.2 million USD.
Slot machine revenue $1 billion
Slots at Harry Reid (formerly McCarran International Airport) generated more than $1 billion in revenue over 36 years under Michael Gaughan's airport slot concession. The Las Vegas-based company operates flight schedules at busy airports.
Airport flights generate approximately $39.8 million in gross revenue annually. That brings average airport revenue to about $34.4 million.
Harry Reid Airport has 1,430 slot machines to help offset airport costs.
