Titles in a propaganda publication - Islamic State threatens terrorist acts during European Championships.
In a recent report, a terrorist group has published a full-page photomontage in their propaganda magazine "Voice of Khorasan," which vaguely references the European Championship. The picture is quite intimidating – it shows a militant wearing military attire and equipped with an assault rifle, standing in an empty soccer stadium. Above him, the names of European cities like Berlin, Dortmund, and Munich are displayed. The phrase "Where do you want to go?" can also be seen, alongside the statement "Then score the final goal."
The Islamic State of Shahid al-Adnani (ISPK), an Afghanistan-based IS offshoot, is thought to be the mastermind behind this magazine. It was rumored to have orchestrated the attack on a concert hall in Moscow in March, resulting in over 140 casualties. According to security experts, the ISPK has already deployed fighters in Germany.
Christoph de Vries, a CDU interior politician, views this situation as a clear threat of attack. He assured WELT AM SONNTAG that Germany's security authorities are fully geared up for any potential danger. However, the country is heavily dependent on foreign partner services for surveillance purposes.
In early April, IS magazine had also published a picture featuring a drone hovering above a stadium. The caption read "If they don't provide you with opportunities on the ground, strike from the air!" The magazine additionally provided specific instructions for acts of terrorism: "Run over the infidels with your vehicle, stab them with knives, poison their food, shoot them in the head, and burn their houses down."
