CDU foreign policy expert Röttgen discusses Maischberger's program. - Is Scholz leaning towards attacking Russia?

Before, Olaf Scholz (65) mentioned that there were regulations in place for these weapons, and their usage should be within the boundaries of international law.

Putin's Shrewd War Tactics

A missile strike against Kharkiv by Russian missiles that launch behind their border and thereby evade Ukrainian defense was brought up by CDU politician Röttgens, who discussed the German restrictions. "Because this restriction has turned into Putin's war tactic, that stance can no longer be maintained!" Röttgens stated.

Röttgens interprets Scholz's change in opinion: "The chancellor has, from my perspective, definitely shifted his position, as he now says, differently than before: Ukraine can defend itself on Russian territory, as per the guidelines of international law. This is a significant alteration."

The New Standard

Maischberger disbelieved this: "But with German weapons?" she questioned. "He didn't confirm that!"

"Yes!" asserted Röttgen. "He said: Ukraine can defend itself- using the weapons it has, otherwise it wouldn't have any - adhering to the standards of international law. That's the new standard. The previous standard was: International law matters, but with much harsher conditions."

Is it Truly a New Situation?

"He is communicating with this statement that the Ukrainians can now defend themselves according to international law", analyzed the CDU politician concerning Scholz's statement. "With Western approval, with German approval, not yet with American approval, but he supports it. That's a new scenario!"

Is it truly new? Or is there a retraction? Röttgens additionally complimented Scholz: "It's very admirable that, given the changing scenario, he corrects his view." There was a lot of appreciation for that.

Potential for Further Escalation

Maischberger displayed pictures of the destructive rocket attack on a hardware store in Kharkiv and asked Sahra Wagenknecht's close associate Amira Mohamed Ali (44, BSW): "What right do we have to tell the Ukrainians: No! In the places where these rockets or planes are launched, they're not allowed to counter-attack?"

"Internationally, the Ukraine can do that", responded Mohamed Ali. "However, the reason for the past stance was: With Western weapons, don't shoot at Russia; as there is a danger of further escalation."

If German Weapons are Used Against Russia

Because, as Mohamed Ali explained, the Russians face "some difficulties in mobilizing recently. If German weapons are used against Russia, Putin would have the ability to mobilize more people to join the war."

"Putin aimed to annex Ukraine. He failed. Now, he wants to destroy it", cautioned Röttgen. "We can influence the war only by supporting Ukraine!"

Moscow History Textbooks

Legendary manager Olaf Henkel (84), who was affiliated with the AfD in the European Parliament in 2014 but departed the party in 2015 due to its right-wing shift, warned the party's supporters: "Fellow citizens, do you genuinely want to place yourselves in Putin's hands? Sahra Wagenknecht sits on the left, and Gerhard Schröder sits on the right!"

His warning: "In Moscow textbooks, it now states: West Germany annexed East Germany. Reflect on what this implies if he first succeeds in capturing Ukraine. It's time for Germans to become alert."
