Crash Involving 3.09 ppm (Part Per Million) - Intoxicated trucker crashes, destroys shipment of beer.
In a drunken mishap, a man behind the wheels of a truck lost his entire load of beer on A10 highway in Brandenburg on Thursday night. The driver, 37 years old, veered off the road, causing the truck to crash and the beer crates to go splat on the sidewalk and into the embankment.
Before this unfortunate turn of events, the man had apparently polished off quite a few drinks. Police reported his alcohol level was found to be 3.09 per mille, a rather high level of inebriation.
When they first encountered the man after the crash, police detected the aroma of alcohol on his breath. His minor injuries were treated at the hospital, where they also collected his blood samples.
The recovered truck was in a sorry state, with its bearly-tuanced cargo lying down the highway. The incident took place between the Falkensee junction (Havelland district) and the Havelland junction around 9 pm on Thursday.
The police were still working on the salvage operation on Friday morning, after the accident had prompted the shutdown of the road.
