2.5 per thousand in Bavaria - Intoxicated individual destroys police station entrance.
At about 1:15 a.m. on a Monday, a 33-year-old man from Aschau, known to the authorities, caused chaos in the police station's guard area. Police noted that the individual was clearly in a state of mental distress and heavily intoxicated.
Upon arrival, the man desperately sought help for his depression. Unfortunately, due to his intoxication, immediate intervention was not available. In response, the man went ballistic in the police station's entryway.
The agitated man was unable to be calmed down and began seizing items within the guarded area. He broke a glass door and destroyed other furniture.
With assistance from neighboring police stations, the troublesome man was subdued. He was non-compliant but did not physically fight back. Police shared that the frenzied man suffered cuts in the course of his rage, prompting the summoning of emergency services to provide medical attention on-site.
The intoxicated man's blood alcohol level was measured above 2.5 per mille. He was sent to a mental health facility in Wasserburg.
Investigators assessed that the damage to the building ranging in the low five-figure sum. A criminal investigation was initiated against the Aschau native for the destruction of property.
