Weather Disturbances in Germany - Intense downpour submerges streets in Saxony
### Schwarzenberg, Saxony: Sudden Storm Causes Flood from Nixbach
On Saturday afternoon, a heavy downpour caused flash floods in the Erzgebirge region, with the B101 in Schwarzenberg's Sachsenfeld district being one of the areas most affected. The road was inundated with a mix of water and debris, cutting off access to a gas station in the area.
Nixbach, located nearby, had been experiencing flooding since the afternoon. By evening, there was more torrential rain forecasted for the region. The Schneeberger Strasse was another incident site, with a trash-filled ditch overflowing onto this road.
Chemnitz: Hutfestival Interrupted by Thunderstorm
A thunderstorm swept through Chemnitz during the early hours of the afternoon, which caused the Hutfestival in the city center to be temporarily suspended. The event's organizer broke the news on their Facebook page, and proceedings resumed by around 4:30 pm.
Frankenberg: Regular Flooding Woes
A homeowner attempted to clear the gutters, but could not prevent his property from being inundated. He lamented that this had been an ongoing issue and suggested a protective wall or a pond on the slope as potential solutions to the problem, which had plagued the area for years. The Rathausstraße was also under water due to the heavy rain.
