In the initial stages of the Tennis Masters' competition in Rome from 8th to 9th May 2024, Jan-Lennard Struff, Yannick Hanfmann, and Dominik Koepfer have made it to the next round. Unfortunately, Maximilian Marterer and Daniel Altmaier were unsuccessful. Notably, Rafael Nadal managed to avoid humiliation in the initial phase. Winners and Losers: Day 1 Highlights in Rome

The leading players triumphed in the ATP Masters' opening day in Rome. Austria's Sebastian Ofner, who stated as a potential contender, was defeated by Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka in a heated match.

Ofner had lost the first set 3:6, but then rallied and won the second 6:2. In the pivotal third and deciding set, the tie-break determined the winner. Ofner comfortably led 3:0, but squandered two service games and eventually lost the tie-break 4:7.

Rome's second round of the ATP tournament starts today, 10th May. German players Alexander Zverev and Yannick Hanfmann will be the talks of the town as they battle their opponents. Zverev skipped the first round, whereas Hanfmann beat Aljandro Tabilo from Chile. Their matches are likely to excite fans. Points for the German athletes:
