Severe collision occurs - Inexperienced 19-year-old motorist collides with a tree and becomes stuck.
Last Wednesday evening at 8:25 PM, emergency services were called to a severe traffic accident on the S301 highway leading from Bergen to the Neustadt district of Poppengrün.
An 19-year-old man was driving his Mazda MX-5 during heavy rainfall when, for reasons still unknown, he lost control and swerved off the road to the right, slamming into a tree, according to a police statement released on Thursday. The young driver suffered serious injuries and became trapped in his sports car.
The road was completely shut down for four hours as a result of the accident, incurring damage estimated at 15,000 euros. Fifty firefighters were called to the scene to assist.
