Indulge in the attractions of Resorts World
Las Vegas has clearly reached peak immersion, or at least Resorts World has. The Transfix and Enchant immersive attractions will no longer be available. Both operated at different times on the same 10-acre parcel of vacant land south of the resort's towers on the Las Vegas Strip.
Transfix, billed as "the world's largest immersive art experience" when it opened on April 21, closed its doors in May, just 28 days into its planned 42-day run.
According to R-J, weak ticket sales and overcrowding at night are the reasons why the attraction, which employs 90 people, only attracts 300 paying patrons at night. Organizers plan to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings as early as this week, the newspaper reported.

Dozens of artworks on display at Transfix, including installations by renowned artists such as Marco Cochrane, Christopher Bauder & KiNK, Kate Raudenbush and the Foldhaus Collective, remain on site, deeply troubling their creators.
“The CEO’s excessive spending and mismanagement bankrupted the company and left much of the art in Las Vegas,” Transfix’s former director of artist relations said in a (now deleted) Facebook post quoted by R-J wrote. “There are no resources to dismantle and return the works as per the contract.”
Transfix employee Kevin Bracken told The R-J they work with artists to either pull their art and help them find buyers to rent the pieces for special occasions or find secure storage space.
This year’s “Enchant on the Strip,” a $44 holiday show that debuted last Thanksgiving and runs through New Year’s Day, doesn’t require artists to evacuate in time. That's because it's not coming back either.
Organizers said attendance at Resorts World attractions has declined, as has Enchant, a Christmas attraction at Las Vegas Ballpark that will continue to operate, R-J reported.
“Immersive” is a marketing buzzword from the world of virtual reality gaming. This means integrating users into an experience. In "real" reality it means almost nothing.
