He pays you to tidy up his place. - Individual confronts kids and endures assault
On a Sunday night around 6:10 p.m., a mentally ill man got close to some children. The concerned parents notified the police, who quickly caught up with him.
"The police officers had a talk with the man and asked him to stay away from other people's kids," said the spokesperson. The authorities also informed the relevant department. The mentally ill man would be kept under close watch by the social psychiatric service. However, "he hadn't committed any criminal acts yet," so he was allowed to go free.
The news spread like wildfire among parents at a nearby daycare center, who decided to share the information through an internal message chain. They urged others to stay vigilant and protect their children. One of the parents even shared a photo of the man on social media, although this is against the law.
Two days later, a group of four individuals identified the man at a playground. They confronted and verbally abused him, sparking a fight where the man got hit in the face. The attackers bolted afterwards. The man from Spandau received minor injuries (head wounds) and is now being treated at a facility for those with behavioral issues.
Stralau commented: "This incident highlights the potential consequences of spreading unverified information online." The police will now probe the four strangers for causing bodily harm.
