Indicted Individual Suspected of Killing Musician in Indiana Casino Kept in Detention
A young man has been detained following the tragic March shooting of a loved local entertainer in the parking area of Caesars Southern Indiana casino.
Antwaun Proctor, 20 years old, is currently in custody and faces charges of murder, robbery, criminal damage, car theft, and obstructing justice.
As of Saturday, he is being held without bail at Indiana's Harrison County jail.
On the 17th of March, Proctor and another person had been tailing the targeted person as he drove his Dodge Charger from Kentucky into the parking garage at the casino in Elizabeth, Indiana.
Proctor and his accomplice patiently waited in the garage for three hours until the target, LilDon Williams, 32, from Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his vehicle.
Williams, accompanied by relatives and friends, went into the casino after exiting the car.
Upon Williams' return to his car, Proctor and his accomplice, both wearing masks, moved closer to the Dodge. They were both armed with assault rifles, according to police reports.
When Williams tried to escape, both men shot numerous rounds at him. He was critically injured and died at the scene.
A Harrowing Death
The authoritative figure, Otto Schalk, Harrison County Prosecutor, described the murder as a "execution". The victim was recorded on camera, trying to flee, ultimately succumbing to the bullets.
The Cherokee Charger was stolen by one of the assailants. The other suspect drove off in a Malibu, which belonged to a relative of Proctor's.
Investigators traced Proctor's involvement in the murder through surveillance footage from the casino, traffic cameras, and phone records.
A warrant for his arrest was signed by a judge on April 24. He was captured on the 24th of April, and the news of his arrest was released on Friday.
The Second Suspect Remains at Large
Authorities are yet to locate the second suspect. They have yet to reveal the identity of the second man.
Williams was a well-known rapper as well as a full-time employee at a Ford factory, newspapers have reported. He had performed at a concert in Louisville before the incident that claimed his life.
Following the killings, Williams was chased by the suspects for approximately 14 miles, according to Sheriff Nick Smith of Harrison County.
Williams' grieving wife, Rannisha, told Kentucky TV station WDRB that her husband "was a good man and a good dad. He did not deserve this." He leaves behind a wife and a 6-year-old daughter.
