Syntainics MBC can secure their spot in the German Basketball League ahead of time on Saturday with a win against Ludwigsburg. They need this victory and a defeat of third-to-last Heidelberg against Ulm in the evening. This would give MBC a two-win lead over Heidelberg with two matchdays left in the season and a win in the direct comparison. Additionally, a Crailsheim win over Bamberg would also be enough.
In Würzburg, Syntainics MBC managed to keep up with the team for half the game and even led 48:45 momentarily before halftime. However, the third quarter saw the MBC team from Weißenfels fall apart. The final score was a heavy defeat at 83:107. Despite an impressive performance by Charles Callison, who scored eleven points and provided ten assists at his previous team's court, MBC could not make a comeback. This was the first time this season that Weißenfels' best player recorded a double-double.
"We didn't perform well in the second half, particularly on defense. Würzburg is a strong team that has a good flow. They made a lot of baskets today, making it difficult to regain the lead after falling behind," said Head Coach Predrag Krunic. The team is now gearing up for their last three games.
