Three individuals, as per the governor, lost their lives due to two guided missiles striking the DIY store. Synegubov said that communication with certain employees was lost. "Based on what we know, there could still be patrons in the building," he said. Reportedly, about 200 people were present in the store when it got targeted. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed: "There are many missing individuals and many wounded."

Following the strike, Zelensky petitioned Ukraine's Western allies to furnish his nation with additional air defense systems. "With adequate air defense systems and contemporary fighter aircraft, Russian attacks like this would be unattainable," the president emphasized. "Every day we ask the world: provide us with air defense, rescue people."
French President Emmanuel Macron termed the attack "unacceptable." He expressly communicated "the anguish of the Ukrainian people" on the online service X, and declared "France stands by your side."
