Union lodges criminal complaint - In Leipzig, false CDU posters are urging support for a caliphate.
In the days leading up to the municipal election on June 9th, phony CDU campaign posters with the phrase "More Caliphate" have predominantly surfaced in the east section of Leipzig. Similar posters have also been spotted in Chemnitz and the vicinity of Zwickau.
False posters in Chemnitz and Zwickau
The bogus posters closely resemble the authentic CDU campaign material in terms of font and color scheme. The sole variance is that the CDU motto "Leipzig. Secure. Achieve." has been swapped for "Leipzig. Insecure. Achieve.". There is no imprint on the counterfeit posters.
A short while back, an authentic CDU billboard in the eastern region of Leipzig created a commotion. On approximately 400 posters, the caption "More safety and order in our neighborhood" appeared in Arabic. The neighborhood surrounding Eisenbahnstraße houses about 40% of its residents as migrants.
AfD faults CDU for "adjusting to migrants"
The AfD subsequently criticized the CDU on the platform X for "adjusting to migrants." The CDU city association of Leipzig was also perplexed by this.
Soon after, a clash between foreigners on Eisenbahnstraße erupted, involving a man wielding a machete.
Since the fake posters have surfaced, the CDU intends to submit a criminal complaint. Citizens are urged to report such counterfeits ([email protected]). Most of the false posters have been taken down by CDU members. Residents can likewise report these.
