"I'm declaring you the reigning queen of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire'."

During the WWM surprise special on Whitsunday, certain candidates in the audience remained clueless. This was a delight for host Günther Jauch (67), who even brought out his own wallet during the show.

As there was a photo of Günther Jauch placed above her bed, - "I'm declaring you the reigning queen of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire'."

A pair of wide-eyed individuals!

Spontaneous contestant Eva Veeser in the audience was completely unaware of what lay in store for her. It wasn't until Jauch invited her group of friends into the studio that the student from Freiburg suspected what could possibly happen: "I'm a tad scared that I'll end up in the hot seat."

The cohort turned out to be a real Who Wants to be a Millionaire fan club. Eva typically bests everyone in the quiz and is thus frequently permitted to don the homemade "Who wants to be a millionaire" crown. Now, however, she needed to ensure that all her friends scored a getaway in Mexico.

Jauch smirks: "I'd say one's chances of winning are quite daunting!" That being said, there's one fact that leaves the host beaming: when he inspects a photograph of the group, he spots a picture of himself hanging above a bed. He swiftly inquires: "Which one of yous hung that up?"

At the beginning, Günther Jauch is still wearing his crown himself. The presenter is clearly having fun with his candidate

Within moments, the "guilty party" is identified. Jauch casually takes out a banknote from his pocket and grandly hands it over: "That's worth at least a penny. A wise decision!"

Soon after, the candidate encounters some difficulty when realizing she doesn't know any of her phone jokers personally. Jauch mockingly chastises her: "Mate, you're the one who vouched for them, so give me my money back ASAP!"

Eva Veeser struggles with the €32,000 question: "In which sport can you typically find two 1.37-meter-wide zones on the field that are often termed 'tunnels'? A: Volleyball, B: Football, C: Tennis, D: Hockey?" Torn between tennis and field hockey, an extra joker in the audience hesitates. If wrong, the candidate would only land with 500 euros.

While she ponders her decision, Jauch grabs the WWM crown with a grin and places it on her head. Veeser: "Am I allowed a moment to consult?" Jauch barks: "Nope, otherwise it'd be called 'Ponder and lose'!" With no hesitation, the contestant decides to go all in - that's 16,000 euros, good for the Acapulco vacation.

Jauch retrieves the crown: "By decree of myself, I hereby crown you as the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire queen who's pocketed 16,000 euros this evening!"

The thrilling surprise episode continues on Whit Monday.
