Adela opens up, admitting to a secret. - I underwent treatment for my cheese dependency.

Cojab's story began in the spring of 2018: "I literally scooped the cheese in with both hands." She sat by herself in the dimness of her New York apartment and munched on the cheapest cuts of Camembert, cheddar, and so on. "Cheese was the only thing that made me believe I had any worth at all."

Gaining weight

She snarfed down more than five gigantic portions per week - along with heaps of Parmesan potato chips, which Adela Cojab always kept stocked. As a consequence of her cheese overindulgence, the young woman bulked up by over 20 kilos. Before long, she missed her period for months. "Mom said to me, 'You don't look good, you need to get better!'" Eventually, with the assistance of her family - as she describes it - Cojab enrolled in a rehabilitation facility.

The American enrolled herself at Hilton Head Health in South Carolina for two weeks. This place specializes in weight loss and nutritious eating. The stay doesn't come cheap; it's at least $5,820 per week! There, she learned to view cheese not as a buddy during rough times but as mere food. She's managed to achieve that goal. These days, she chooses slimmer mozzarella over full-bodied designs.

A doctor confirms her cheese dependence

Adela Cojab now weighs in at 56 kilos, a far cry from her previous high. She declares herself cured of her addiction. On a cheese shopping excursion with "New York Post" scribes, she merely sampling a piece of Gruyère and a few cheese pretzels, according to the publication. "I no longer obsess over cheese like I used to," the healed lady shares. These days, she only busts out the full-fat stuff when life's giving her a hard time. "But that doesn't happen so often anymore."

The tabloid touched base with an MD. Professor Neal Barnard, author of "Cheese Trap," explained that cheese can be addictive. "Cheese contains substances similar to opiates that attach themselves to the exact same receptors in the brain as narcotics." Some folks call cheese "milk crack" for this reason.
