She decided to break free from his control. - Husband kills his spouse using a neck scarf.

In the evening of June 11, 2023, an Afghan individual informed the police that his wife was "broken." Apparently, he discovered her lifeless body at their residence after going out for kebab with their three children, aged 3-8. The police were suspicious of his account and consequently detained him. The children were temporarily placed under the care of the youth welfare office.

Shocking confessions from the kids

At the children's home, the two older girls (6 and 8) opened up to their caretakers. They divulged that they had witnessed their mother's brutal murder. Throughout the trial, the accused Afghan man continued denying his involvement in the heinous act.

Prosecutor Ines Grajcarek (62): "The motivation behind this act was that his wife no longer wanted to follow his morals and ethics and refused to submit to him."

It was discovered that the woman had shared with her relatives and friends her ordeal of being trapped in a forced marriage and her desire to end her union with her unloving spouse. The woman also started seeing someone new, with whom she had been meeting before the tragic incident.

Presiding judge Theo Dahm (64): "He denied his wife the right to live independently of him. The murder was orchestrated and planned by him; he had a motive and the ability to carry out the crime. No other suspect exists."

Pursuing killing strategies online

As per the Görlitz Regional Court (Saxony), Hasib H. had browsed for "killing tips" on the internet prior to the homicide. The authorities declared that the visit to the kebab shop with the kids served as a post-crime alibi.

The defense counsel stated that their client would be appealing the judgment at the Federal Court of Justice.
