St. Pauli offers amusement and entertainment. - Hurzeler saves his climbers

Lots happening on Kollaustraße!

With temperatures hitting a heatwave-like 26 degrees, coach Fabian Hürzeler (31) decided to take it easy. This was met with joy by the fans who got to watch several rounds of soccer tennis, as the pros displayed impressive acrobatic rallies.

The captain, Jackson Irvine (31), didn't play for the second division team on this occasion.

Hürzeler gives break to his rising stars

Apparently, the wedding ceremony on Tuesday had to be canceled due to one of the couple forgetting their passport, an ironic twist that resulted in their wedding date being on the 114th anniversary of FC St. Pauli.

Absent, too, were Elias Saad, Erik Ahlstrand and Etienne Amenyido.

Intriguingly, the first new signing - referring to it as such, sporting director Andreas Bornemann (52) - has already been confirmed: Pitch 1, right on Kollaustraße, is slated for renovation and installation of proper drainage. It will be fitted with a hybrid system (a combination of natural turf infused with synthetic fibers), but it won't be heated.

The pitch became unusable during late winter, forcing the professionals to take a training trip to Mallorca for a week.
